On Thursday, April 11th at 4:00 pm, join the Laguna Beach Chamber of Commerce for a Ribbon Cutting Welcome Ceremony celebrating the Jessie Rees Foundation.
TheJessie Rees Foundationwas inspired by eleven-year-old Jessica JoyRees(Jessie), who fought terminal brain cancer. During Jessie’s courageous fight, she realized thousands of other kids could not leave the hospital. This inspired Jessie to create her fun filled JoyJars®and deliver them to kids battling cancer while encouraging them to NEGU® (Never Ever Give Up). Before losing her own battle, she worked with family and friends to fill more than 3,000 JoyJars®.?“For children who have cancer and their families, every day is a journey, and they need to have joy, hope and inspiration,” saidErikRees, CEO and co-founder of the JessieReesFoundation and Jessie’s dad. Jessie’s goal was to bring smiles to kidsaround the worldlike her by creating and delivering JoyJars®.
“The Jessie Rees Foundation is a nonprofit organization that is dedicated to help kids fighting cancer by sharing JoyJars®,” said Erin Slattery CEO of the Laguna Beach Chamber of Commerce. “JoyJars® are a 64 oz. plastic jar stuffed with new, age-appropriate toys, games and activities, that will be delivered to children around the world fighting cancer.”
For those in attendance, Jessie Rees Foundation will be offering a tour of the JoyFactory and the opportunity to stuff JoyJars® for children who are currently fighting cancer.
